B I T I Y A Bringing Up Independent, Talented and Insightful Young Adults Mission Our mission at BITIYA is to provide educational opportunities and basic facilities for every needy female child. We intend to maintain an environment that builds self esteem, develops every child to her highest potential, and instills the attitudes, skills, and knowledge necessary to become an independent, valuable, contributing member of a progressive society. Vision Our vision at BITIYA is to facilitate a change in our society by providing opportunity for female and needy children. We believe that education is a tool by which we can plant the seeds of change and growth towards a more global perspective where opportunity is not exclusive.
When young girls are educated, important social reforms are accelerated over time. As the primary caregiver of the family, women with an education improve the health and nutrition of their family which lead to further positive results including a decline in infant mortality, accelerated literacy in the household, decreased birth rates and increased family incomes. These beneficial social changes in turn result in positive effects for the country’s overall national economy.
Our model is based on women empowering female children all over the world for a brighter future. Our goal is to dramatically increase the tally of educated female children. We aim to transcend borders, nationalities, race, color, and religion to create a global environment of independent, confident women who benefit the human race.
Solution The most sustainable form of assisting those in poverty is to give them the ability to find their own way out—an end that can only be achieved via education. Whether it is the knowledge of disease and preventing it from spreading; or the knowledge of history used to prevent the repetition of the same mistakes through time; the knowledge of technology being used to advance our existence; or knowledge of a skill that businesses are willing to pay a salary for, education serves as the common thread for bringing both individuals and nations out of poverty.
When a female child feels empowered, she understands she has the right to voice her opinions and her needs. She is better prepared to make appropriate life altering decisions, as well as exercise leadership in her family and community. She can thus develop goals not just for her future well-being but that of her family’s. This can all be achieved via the empowering tool of education. Education functions not only as a means to finding a way out of poverty for these female children, but it also empowers generations to come by disabling the poverty cycle. At Bitiya we feel that the female child, given gender equality, is the key to accelerate the process of reform in poverty stricken nations. Help Spread the Word!
