When girls are educated, their countries become stronger and more prosperous."-- Michelle Obama
Offering girls basic education is one sure way of giving them power to make choices over the kinds of lives they wish to lead. An educated girl or woman has the skills, information and self-confidence that she needs to be a better parent, worker and citizen. Bitiya is trying to make a difference in the lives of girls from early childhood, to enhance their self-esteem and prepare them for future. Below is some information regarding our current projects, as well as a link to view our past endeavors.
BETIYON KI UDAAN (2016-Present)
This project, which began in 2016, is centered around girls from the town of Jagatpur, Jaipur. These girls come from families who are only able to provide minimal food and clothing, and as such have been forced to place education on the back burner. Bitiya India team was able to convince the families of these girls that education can be a huge benefit for their daughter and their future. Bitiya is now supporting 20 young girls, aged 4-13, attending J.S.Angels Academy.
HITAISHEE FOUNDATION (2023-Present)
Bitiya is partnering with Hitaishee Foundation to run a center which provides tuition to underprivileged students attending government schools. 22 children are currently attending this tuition center. In the evening, the center is used for computer training and stitching classes. We have 32 students in the computer training class and 6 students in the stitching class.
Bitiya is supporting the Sparsh Organization. Jointly, we are providing basic education to kids of all ages who have never attended school. Our goal is to prepare them to perform at their grade level, and to help them be comfortable with fellow students.
